How to tune a Bosch ebike ?
Electric bike tuning is done by installing an unlocking kit (tuning kit) on your bike. This kit interacts with your engine and transforms the signal emitted by the controller. So your Bosch engine interprets your speed differently and continues to assist you beyond the original limit.
There are several methods. You either need to install a kit on the frame or directly on the engine. Depending on the make of your electric bicycle and the type of Bosch motor, the installation of the kit differs slightly.
Internal set up
- Uncoupling the Bosch motor from the electric bicycle
- Identify the cables connected to the motor
- Disconnect the 2 appropriate connectors and connect the kit in series.
- Reassemble your Bosch engine
- Follow the steps to activate the kit
External set up
- Identify the target location of the kit on the rear wheel frame
- Insert the AAA battery into the Bosch tuning module.
- Attach the kit to the frame of your bike, close to the magnet.
- Your Bosch engine is permanently unbridle.
